‘Crashing Down’, the long-awaited new single from Nashville-based Drum & Bass producer Souljunk is here. The track arrived January 13 and marks Mugic.us Records’ first release of the year, and first-ever Drum & Bass single, setting an energetic tone for both the label and artist in 2026.
Souljunk’s ‘Crashing Down’ is a big dance floor Drum & Bass tune with an anthemic female vocal. The song uses the tried and true method of pairing a sad vocal with a high-energy instrumental, creating a sense of bittersweetness that good DnB captures so perfectly.
I especially love the turn when the vocals cut out and pulsating arpeggios surround the listener and take the energy to the next level before washing out and ramping back up once again. It’s a tune you can immediately tell would slap on a major sound system.

The single debuted at #54 on Hypeddit’s Drum & Bass charts, rising to #45 as of this writing (1/14). We sat down with Nate aka Souljunk to talk about the journey of this tune and his recent successes:

Q1: You’re coming off a tour with Raydium and a massive NYE show – where has Crashing Down been played, and how’s the reaction been?
A: The tour with Raydium was great, the massive New York Eve show was even better! ‘Crashing Down’ I’ve been playing for pretty much the entire year. I didn’t always play it in all of the sets just because it didn’t always fit the vibe, but the crowd reaction has always been very very positive.
It is one of the few songs that I would have people come up after and be like yo what was that one you played? They’re like I need to know about THAT one!
Q2: This tune’s been floating around for a minute, were you ever worried this tune never gets picked up? Does the journey of this tune make it more special to you as an artist?
A: There was a worry that it wouldn’t be picked up for a while. I sent it to a bunch of different labels, and it just never quite traction which was a little upsetting because this is finally where I wanted to be as an artist when I’m happy with it and how I want to sound and it just didn’t get the response from the labels.
Labels are always kind of looking for what they want regardless of what you’re making. At the end of the day I probably would have self released it but I feel like it would’ve just lost the magic that it really had to me.
